Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNICE DOUGLAS Bernice Douglas, formerly of Victoria, BC and Hartney, MB died peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on August 30, 2001. She was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Maggie Agnew; by her brothers, Harvey and Orville Agnew; by her husband Gordon Douglas; and his brothers and sisters; and by her grandson Jamie Douglas. She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by Don and Janet Douglas and their sons, Mark, Scott and Paul and by Bob and Carol Douglas and their sons, Kris, Rick and Jason. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces. Bernice was born near Hartney, MB in 1916 and grew up in the Hartney and Dand districts. As a young adult, she became a nurse and married Gordon Douglas. Following the Second World War, Gordon and Bernice lived in various towns and cities across Canada as he continued his career in the Canadian Army. Their sons, Don and Bob were born in Winnipeg and Dawson Creek respectively and the family lived in communities as far flung as Whitehorse, YK and St. Johns, NF, before settling in Winnipeg. Some years after his retirement from the military, Gordon and Bernice returned to the town of Hartney where he served for nine years as the Secretary-Treasurer of the town from which they had both come. Upon his second retirement, Gordon and Bernice moved to Victoria in 1979 where they lived happily until Gordons death in 1995. Bernice continued to live in Victoria until earlier this year when she returned to Winnipeg, unaware that she had by then been stricken with the condition that led to her death. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. At her request, no funeral will be held. Donations may be made in her memory to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 9Z9 or to the donors charity of choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
